A Radical Departure
Beyond Tradition
Jesus taught outside synagogues to diverse audiences, not just Jews.
More Than Law
His message transcended Mosaic Law that had guided Israel for generations.
Upside-Down Values
Jesus challenged a world driven by power, wealth, and self-promotion.
Jesus' New Authority
And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.
Jesus' teachings astonished people. His authority was unprecedented.
1
New Command
"Love one another as I have loved you."

Fulfilling Not Canceling
Jesus' Approach
"Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill."

Heart Focus
"Man looks on the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart."
Jesus addressed inward attitudes, not just external compliance.
